Smiles Happy Trails

Smiles ) My hope is for more people in our world to understand that one person can make a difference. Education is the key and our minds must be always open to change, to experience and we must never stop learning. Happy Trails and keep smiling.

on the road

Everyday I get into my car and I have a major problem with the majority of drivers we have on the roads of ours. First of all, I don't understand why they just can't seem to stay in their own lanes. I mean come on, its so easy, look in front of you, and position your vehicle in the middle of the two parrallel lines on the road. If that still doesn't work for you, follow the converging lines... think of it as an arrow that points the way and you must position your vehicle in the middle of the two converging lines in order to get to wherever the hell you're going. I am so fed up with these morons! Oh and don't get me started with the drifting between lanes, I mean road hogging is bad enough, but when one willfully drives their cars in and out of a lane its plain reckless and their driving licences need to be revoked asap. That goes for the fools who never signal their intention before changing lanes too.

Oh but one of my biggest concern and I am totally confused about this is why do so many Singaporeans, park their cars on the side of the road while their driveways remain empty. What is the deal here people? Are they really that lazy! I mean, you spend so much money on a car in this country and they spend so much on a house with a driveway, and then you come home and just dump your car by the side of the road. What is the deal with that? The strangest things is that many of these houses have automatic bloody gates too! Go figure.

Oh oh and finally before I sign off. Let me ask you this, what is the thing with people walking on roads here. I mean our Government has spent alot of money providing many residential properties here with sidewalks. Very nice, wide and flat sidewalks. But do they ever get used I wonder by other people besides myself and my dogs, I don't think so. There is this strange affliction with people in this country and their need to live life dangerously or something... seriously I am always amazed and confused why so many people ignore the lovely sidewalks and choose to walk on the road. Some of these brilliant minds even choose to walk in the middle of a lane. I just want to scream out that these morons, that they have a sidewalk! Its called a sidewalk for a reason, Its for your safety to be able to walk on the side of the road! Buggers. Oh well, just a few observations and much needed ranting to get the week moving along. Cheers and signing off...

Explore, inspect and flick!

I am very disturbed by the number of people we have around the world who do this. But before I get into this exciting observation, let me share with you my experience of car ownership. I have been driving for 13 years now and I find being in my car a very serene experience, seriously. So long as I don't have to drive with the many many morons and inconsiderate drivers who share the road, but really think they own it. Any way I degress... my point is, while I am in my car, I am comfortable, it would be fair to say I feel at home. I am sure many car owners share this feeling. I take a lot of pride to keep my car in tip-top form, I'm am particularly aware of how clean my interior is, afterall one doesn't sit outside but in the car. So I wonder why so many people do this? Do what you ask? Well this...

Nose bloody picking! I can't stand it, it seems like everyday while I'm stuck in the CTE jam to work I find a few fellow car owners furiously going at it, rolling it, inspecting it... its just awful. Some of these fellows have their fingers up so deep, I wonder if they are actually fingering the back of their throat. But that said, the scary thing here is and this is really the question for today. Where does it all go? How can these people who pay so much for their automobiles here treat their second home like this? Do they do this at home? Do they just flick it off to a corner of the room? What is the deal here? I mean why can't these guys clear their nose in the morning while in the loo washing up? Why can't they do it discreetly in a loo at work with a tissue or something. What is it that makes them so brazen when in the car, is it because it is a fleeting moment where the offensive nose abuser reckons another driver would surely not see or beable to recognise them, if they're caught digging their nose?

Whatever it is, I just have this to say. It is gross beyond words. The traffic police should really consider booking some of these nose abusers because they can be seriously distracted with the disgusting task while they are at it. If they can ban people talking on a phone then surely thay can ban this, because many a time after these nose abusers get the offending goo, they almost always inspect it (taking their eyes off the road and traffic) and they also almost have to roll it before flicking. And that leads me to another question... what is up with the rolling? Is there something about rolling goo? Is it the texture what? Damn this topic is making ill. till next time... take care and just blow your nose(with a tissue please - not like the ah pek uncles with just a finger blocking one nostril while the other launches the offending missiles)!

Close shave

On my way to work this morning and almost had a car accident. Whew breathing a sigh of relief! Was filtering into the over-taking lane, indicating and all that but loh and behold, the guy infront of me in a black proton saga slams on his brakes. I had to pull out of the lane change mid way or else I'd have surely hit him. Bloody hell, I wanted blood to say the least, but the bloody guy speeds off and goes off to tail gate some other driver who I think had cut him off. What is the deal, I was just a little shaken and very very glad that I didn't prang my car. Mmmm my lovely car. Yes I am a sad man who pampers his car much much too much. Have a great day people!

London Paris Smile smile smile

What can I say? I am a happy camper. My dearest friends who only just recently moved from Sydney to London will also be joining us in Paris. Coolest!

I can't keep thinking about this trip. I can't remember being so happy and eager to go on holiday. Okay I lie, I do remember the last time I was so happy. It was my honeymoon and America did not disappoint. I had my first ski trip to the States and I was not disappointed. After skiing for so long in Australia, the snow in Tahoe was so soft and powdery. The base was thick and the view from our lodge was breath-taking, there was so much snow and when it snowed... it snows. Our car was totally covered the following morning. So much so that I found myself back on the same ski slopes again about 2 years later. I look forward to my third trip back to Lake Tahoe but that will have to wait. If I'm off to the snow again I think my next destination will be Whistler, Canada. But for now, I am off to Paris and I am like a little kid all over again. Big smiles all round.

Oh what about my job. Its great! I'm starting to get with the whole routine and while I still miss the classroom and the interaction with the kids and making art. I feel that I am contributing greatly to making art education on the other side a lot more enjoyable. Put your money where your mouth is my mom always told me, stand up for what you believe in and hell I sure am. I just wish my dream involved a bigger pay check to subsidies my also big love to travel. Oh well, for now life is good and I'm too busy to worry about anything else except the fact that I have everything I want and need.

So here I am counting down the days to my next holiday. Now the plan what I'm going to be doing while I'm in London and Paris, or should I just wander around and find new places as it happens? What to do... hmmm its going to be so cool.
